Serbs on Kosovo can communicate again
Belgrade/Kosovsko Pomoravlje, May 06. 2010 (Serbia Today) - After more than 10 days without phone signal Serbs in Kosovo can communicate again.“Some 10,000 Serbs have mobile and landline telephony service restored, while municipalities of Novo Brdo, parts of Vitina, and parts of Kosovska Kamenica are still without service,” Kosovsko Pomoravlje District Chief Dragan Nikolić reported for Kim radio. He confirmed that Belgrade-based mobile operators had re-established service in that part of the province late on Sunday, but could not give further details. On April 23, Kosovo Albanian authorities, helped with police, moved to disable or destroy Telekom and Telenor's mobile and landline base stations south of the Ibar River, leaving an estimated 100,000 Serbs in the enclaves without working telephone lines.
