Employment for people with disabilities
Belgrade, May 10. 2010 (Serbia Today) From May 24, Serbian companies employing 20 or more workers, will be obliged to employ persons with disabilities. Companies with over 50 employees must employ one person with a disability for every 50 employees. This requirement obligation is mandated by the Law on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities, which was enacted in May 2009. It is estimated that about 10 percent of the world’s population constitute disabled persons. Serbia has around 700,000 people with disabilities.
